Color SAL - Pink

I did another color SAL this month. They are only for a day, and are fun! This month the color was pink.
Since I had a recent finish, and none of my current projects had any pink in them, I chose to do a new start. I found the perfect one that is pretty small. I started Hangin' with my Peeps by Sue Hillis.

I finished the green part the day before the SAL, and the pink parts were done on that day.

5 years!

Oh my goodness! I just realized that today my 5 year blogiversary. Woohoo!

I can't believe it has already been 5 years since I started this thing. I began this as a way to show off the crafty things I have made. This was my very first item I posted about:

 My giant latch-hook Mario!

I find it fitting that I now reach the 5 year mark with a finish! I have finally completed Candy Cane Christmas! I originally started this project along with a couple others as a Saturday SAL. I was doing OK, but then my stitchy mojo disappeared, and I moved over to making lots of chainmail jewelry and starting my own business in the process.
Now that the stitchy mojo is back, I have caught up and finally finished it! Woohoo!
Here is the final picture:

I am wanting to work on my Mousie next, but I also have a couple new starts that I want to begin, as well. Hmmm. Decisions, decisions...

Getting so close!

I still haven't received the goodies in the mail that I have been expecting, so I have been plugging away at Candy Cane Christmas, since it is so close to being finished. I'm going to be going on a trip next week, too. I will probably take Kyoto with me, unless my goodies get here before-hand (crossing my fingers).

Here is where I was last week:
And here I am now:
Some of my progress is in white (I have completed all the white) so it isn't seen very well. I left off last night catching up on some backstitching. I won't get to work on it tonight, but tomorrow I will have all day. I'm hoping to be able to have a finish very soon!
Once this one is done, I think I want to switch over to my Mousie again. I haven't worked on it for so long!

Update on the stand that I bought. The seller did send me a screw that I was missing, but that was all they sent: one screw. So now I have 3 screws to put together the entire stand. This is getting so frustrating!

Need to finish, ASAP!

I have been in a huge rush to finish Candy Cane Christmas as soon as possible. I have been getting so much done lately, especially with all the holiday weekend time last weekend (although work wasn't as slow as I was hoping), that I keep encouraging myself to work more and more on it.
I am expecting to receive some goodies in the mail soon (shhh, it's a secret). I'll have a bigger post about it later, just want to make sure everything arrives OK first. Once I get the goodies, all of my stitchy time will be focused on something else, so I won't be able to work on this one for a while, so I'm trying to finish it first.

Anyway, here is where I left off last week:

And here is where I am now:

Holy progress, Batman! If I can keep this momentum up, I could be done with this by the end of the week, if all goes well! Woohoo!

Kyoto progress

In my last blog post, I had asked if anyone wanted to see my progress of Kyoto. Since I did get someone replying that they would like to see it, here are some pictures of where I am so far.

Here is a closeup of the finished section:

Here is an overall picture of the project:

I'm not very thrilled with this project. I don't like the coverage of the thread over the 11 count fabric. I'm hoping when I wash it once completed, I will be happier with it once the printing washes away.
